What a warm greeting we get from the woman at reception. It's as if we're old friends. "Your room is up the staircase and it's the last door at the end." After trekking along a corridor full of ancient beams, we find that the "last door" opens into the sort of of room this column in its early days used to encounter all the time...nowadays, practically never. |
