Country Pursuits

As guests at Sampsons Farm Country Hotel we are able to arrange for you a series of country pursuits and activities to suit all needs and budgets.

The activities that can be arranged for you include:

This is a sporting clay shoot where the guns move from “Drive to Drive” thus giving the realism of driven pheasant shooting over a number of challenging positions. Clay and cartridges are provided. Also hire of shotguns can be arranged.

Fly-fishing is available on the local rivers Teign and exe. All fishing is accompanied by an experienced gillie and equipment hire is included. Casting tuition is also available.

Display and demonstration of falconry, ideal for groups. Half-day display includes flying of harriers, hawks, eagles and owls. .

Field and target archery using crossbows or long bows with guidance and use of equipment.

Nature, farm or bird watching, 2 hour circuit through Devon woodlands with its bluebells, wild garlic, foxes, badgers and horseshoe bats plus an abundance of bird life. Specialist RSPB guide can be provided if required

Dartmoor Tours three hours in a land rover round circuit from Sampsons Farm. Tour guide is the driver with archaeological and historical commentary. To visit such delights as Widecombe, Haytor, HMP Dartmoor, Warren House, Grimspound and Becky Falls
